List Your Resources
Just as a grocery list is used to remember to get everything, a resource list is to remember to use everything.
We may forget that we have unfair advantages, that's why we need to make them into a list. I live in a third world country and I know I can live well off financially because I speak english pretty fluently.
I also have entrepeneur friends, they help me push through my struggles and keep me dreaming big, leveraging whatever I have.
I love a quote from the bible, Mathew 25:29:
To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.
I specifically quote this translation so I get my point across. It's not how much or little you have, it's what you do with it.
I think about it as a videogame. We have a set of circumstances and we can make the best out of it, have fun in the mean time. Or we could also exit the game and miss out of all the fun. Our choice.
Today, I choose to appreciate what I have, starting for the opportunity to write in a computer in another language to strangers that maybe one day will become my friends. That's a lot of privilege right there.
But again, if I do nothing with this, I make it worthless.
