Iguanas and Cattle

The other day an iguana came to my workplace. A reptile. Almost a dinosaur. I had seen one before, but it was amazing for me to see it so up close and free. It got me thinking how we evolved from reptiles. Amazing.

Yesterday a cattle of cows came to work. I know, my workplace is weird. But there's something that amazes me more than all this. NO ONE WAS IMPRESSED BUT ME. At least, they didn't show it.

I don't know about you, but I've fallen for this before. Pretending like something is not extraordinary or not even seeing the extraordinary in our daily lives. If an iguana is not enough for you to say that was a special day, maybe nothing will be enough.

We are so accustomed to impressive. You watch people so buffed on Instagram that any strong person you see is not strong enough. The rich people around you are not rich enough.

And if you start comparing yourself to other people, you see yourself as nothing. We will never end in this hedonic threadmill of experiences.

I say screw all of that. Let's get appreciative. Let's see the iguanas and cattle in our daily lives and say "What the fuck is going on, this is something extraordinary". Acknowledge the extraordinary in our lives.
