Health is Wealth
I don't know about you, but if I don't consciously focus on my health, I can be very negligent about it.
I see health in 4 main categories:
- Exercise
- Sleep
- Diet
- Hygiene
Each one of these categories has special habits that lets you feel better, happier. Another category can be the environment you're in, but let's stick with the basics. Without keeping these basics, you'll degrade pretty rapidly. Let's see how you can get a better health.
Exercise
Exercise moves your energy. It does not give you energy, it starts it. That's why we feel energized. Movement is amazing for breaking through any stagnation.
Exercising can be accomplished in many ways, I prefer to lift weights and run. A balance between strenght training and cardio. You can do it 3-5 times per week, with an actual 30-60 minute workout will suffice. I aim for 150 min/week.
Clear mind, high energy and abs. What else do you want?
One tip to make this easier is to never neglect those extra couple minutes of push ups you can get in-between your normal activities.
Sleep
Sleep lets you be a human being. A decent one. Sleep is the currency of our will. It deploys as we get more tired, and doing hard stuff is needed to get to where we want to go.
Besides, sleep allows you to start fresh. Learning sits better in the brain. It's just amazing.
One little tip is to turn off the lights. That easy. No light (or screens), get bored. You'll be fully rested, thank me later.
Diet
This is a hard one for me. Sometimes I don't have the energy to cook a full meal. I rely on buying snackable groceries: carrots, jicama. Chewy stuff.
One tip for this is to add healthy food instead of resisting eating bad food. It may seem conterintuitive, but adding is easier than changing.
Hygiene
This one goes a long way. I use to struggle with showering because I genuinely forgot. With quarantine and stuff, I didn't go out, so I never remembered to shower. I can live with my odor. But it's not just that. It's bacteria.
Let's be smart, guys and gals and set reminders for our teeth, our showers. I have reformed since I got my reminders in place. I now smell decent.
Health is Wealth
Take care of your body. Imagine it like a different being you live in and are responsible for. It lets you hug the people you love. Be grateful and take care of it.
