Full-Time Jobs

I have worked a total of 1 year in two full-time jobs. I worked sales and currently work as a waiter. Here's what I've learned about jobs.

Your Habits = Your Endurance

This isn't a sprint race. If you work a full-time job, you should be prioritizing your health. I made that mistake in my first job. I didn't last because I was so tired I was falling asleep working. But still, I couldn't help myself sleeping earlier.

It's a gradual build-up, and everything that you do in your spare time has to set you up to win the work week. If you don't have good habits, you won't get far without seriously harming yourself. I have talked about health here

You Have To Adapt

One of the driving reasons why people become entrepeneurs is this. Your boss has the ultimate saying. I have worked with an extremely reasonable boss and an extremely unreasonable and emotional one.

However, they are just people. I don't get the ultimate saying about things. It hurts but being empathetic is a skill you can get out of this. I'm not saying to be a carpet for others to step on. Keep your boundaries. But be understanding first.

Medium Term Thinking

Larger building blocks will get you where you want, that's thinking medium-term (1 year or less). Think of the next step. To me is saving and investing my first 1 000 usd. When I get that number I will be really happy, and I will get it this soon.

Medium term is about delaying gratification. And 5-10 medium periods, make a long term period. They're building blocks, just larger.

Don't Become A Robot

Don't live for your job. Don't even do it if you love it. Have a personality, hobbies, activities. I know it's hard to do things when you're tired, but prioritize sleep and leisure. Building with your spare time.

I work on projects that can be monetized. This way I can get ahead faster, and do what I love/enjoy. If you want, you'll find a way to do your top 3-5 things. Focus on the least that you can be happy with.

Go Ahead

I think working is a beautiful way to start, but it isn't everything, by any means. You can get leverage, but I'm still experimenting with that. I'll catch you up on this later down the line.
